"The first time I attended Long Island Beauty School I was literally fresh out of high school. That summer I graduated I started class there. At that time I was immature and unappreciative of the education and knowledge the school was offering. How I demonstrated this was in my actions missing class and not taking the segment tests as scheduled. This behavior continued on for a few
months teachers and advisers spoke to me all of them saying the same
thing "Jeanette your such a talented girl why is it that you are wasting it away by not coming to school?" Id listen to them and shake my head with out actually taking in what they were saying and applying it. So for a little while longer this went on I started to get overwhelmed with the amount of absent hours I had acquired, which was entirely my own fault. But it came to a point where I had 270 hours that needed to me made up, i thought I had all the time in the world
to do it. Finally I had missed two straight weeks of school and Mrs.Clark the director called me and told me I was dropped from the program. I was devastated but not surprised. I mean really what else could I expect with the way I treated my education? So of course I cried to Mrs. Clark saying that I would do the right things and at first I was mad at her reply she said "Jeanette why don't you take some time to get yourself together and figure out what you want". So
for two years I worked in fast food, retail, cleaning services I mean you name it I did it. But during that time I learned I was going to have to work very hard to make a dollar and doing things I didn't enjoy. I learned during that time that cosmetology truly was what I was meant to do, nothing gave me greater joy the the smile I would get from making someone look and feel beautiful. In the two years I was out of school I married my high school sweetheart, and started a new life a much more mature life but still I was missing out on what I new
was meant to be. Now remembering what Mrs. Clark told me two years earlier I realized she was right! Taking that time to figure out what was important to me was the best lesson I could have received. So I called Mrs.Clark and told her I took her advise I got myself together and I was ready to come back. Within a few days i was signing up for the September 2011 classes. I met with Claudia and Julie who invited me back with open arms and made me feel great about coming back to school. So during my time of being back at school and being there everyday Ive seen how hard everyone works there the teachers and staff
are there everyday making sure we get the best education possible. They there when they have a good or bad day, whether there car broke down or if they were going through hard times. I realized that these were the people that I wanted to be like. I appreciate every single teacher in that building because they always put there all into every single student. I'm now graduating in just a few days,and I feel completely confident to go out into the work world with the amazing education Ive received from Long Island Beauty School. If there was
any way I could begin to thank everyone there I would, and I think the best way to do that is to take the skills and Knowledge Ive obtained and use it every single day at work and throughout life. My time at Long Island Beauty School has been the most gratifying learning experience of my life."

"I was totally indecisive about going to this school, having the thought that it was connected with the other boot leg unprofessional beauty school in NYC....this school was a mazing from someone that has to have the best I was so not expecting to walk into a school like this one staff & students very friendly, very clean and big and most important they made me feel at home, also Shelly is very good at her job she is very consistent in following up with you also she will keep trying until you get in there to meet her ...this school definitely gets a 5 star review from me......"
